It will not be right to implement old pension scheme 

 

The states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand have informed the central government that they want to implement the old pension scheme.

Some states are claiming to implement the old pension scheme for government employees. It is expected to have a huge impact at the national level. In this situation, the former governor of the Reserve Bank Subbarao has expressed his opinion. Under the old pension scheme, government employees used to get 50% of their last salary as pension.

The old pension scheme was abandoned by the previous NDA regime in 2003. Under the new pension scheme, employees will be able to save 10% of their salary for their pension, while government employees will be able to deduct 14% of their salary. Subbarao also said that it will not be right when the old pension scheme is implemented for government employees who already have a lot of job security.
